Following her passion for beauty, founder and owner Abigail first opened the doors of Alt Beautique on May 4th, 2019 to empower other women while doing what lights her up. Check out below for a little Q&A with Abigail.

Can you tell us a little bit about the Alt Beautique customer experience?

A: We thrive on a very personal one-on-one customer experience. To begin, we chat with our customers to learn what their skincare, makeup, and fashion goals are. This enables us to provide them with the most suitable product recommendations using our expertise and product knowledge, thus guiding them towards a purchase that leaves a lasting impression.

How has the pandemic changed the way you connect and interact with your customers?

A: What hasn’t changed? Our beauty services have been heavily affected by the government’s pandemic alert levels. Being unable to test products on our customers, perform makeup applications or Botox, the overall vibe of the customer experience has drastically changed. The implementation of mask mandate has also resulted in a huge decline in our makeup sales. Determined to not let this get us down, we pivoted our business by adding apparel and accessories to our product offering.

What is your favourite BenSim product and why?

A: EGYPTIAN MAGIC -this multipurpose product has helped so many of our customers including myself!

What are some of your favourite self-care tips?

A: Taking a relaxing bath, meditating, grounding myself in nature with a walk outside, and learning when to say no. As a business owner, I have found setting boundaries to be an especially useful and important self -care tip.
